I dont really know much about this coin or how they are made and when I do see them I dont typically see any errors like this so I have no clue if this would be common or not.

You can see what looks to be a die crack on the top left, but when I tilt the coin you will notice it is actually a raised surface.

Was just curious to know everyones opinions

Right before the empire became a Republic these square holed cash coins were still being made, however for the first time in over 2000 years some were struck using dies as apposed to casting. Given the later date of this piece and the little bits of lustre peaking out, I would say that you have a struck cash coin.
