So I got this coin in change the other day and got excited because it was so shiny. I put it under the microscope and I am not sure if it is a proof or worth anything other than my admiration. I have spent hours looking at this thing and looked it up on variety vista. Now I am more confused than when I started.

Looks to be a proof (impaired)--the pronounced edge is a good indicator.

An impaired proof is basically a proof put into circulation and will not receive higher than an AU grade.

Yes impaired means damaged. Damage/impairment can come from circulation, mishandling, or just outright physical damage such as scratches, wiping etc.
