Just thought I'll compile the $2 coins that I pulled from circulation. I forgot to take photos of the 2016 decimal coinage and 2019 invitus games. I'm sure I found a Borobi the other day - probably lying around somewhere.

My personal 2 favorite coins are these:

I've pulled a couple of purple coronation from circulation. The last one was back a couple of years ago.

Nice. I've got a few from circulation but not many. I can't remember which but one seemed to be more common than the rest.

I have managed to assemble a complete set in duplicate of issued for circulation only $2 colored commemorative coins. All taken from circulation at face value.
Some of them have come from Woolworths, on or nearly after the day they they were issued.

Collection is live and growing, inasmuch as new coins are added as they are issued.

Same for all other commemorative coins of all the other denominations as well, since the start of decimal coinage in 1966. Started the collection in my teenage years.

You end up learning a lot about Australia's heritage, if you study the historical background behind each issue.

The coloured $2 coin is definitely my favourite Aussie decimal coin to collect. I started taking photos but soon realised that there were just too many .. all taken from circulation except for coins that are marked with an asterisk.

I am crazy about these too and all of them up to 2021 Olympics except the 2 Aborigine themed ones.

Besides what is shown, I love these two's designs.

The coin on the right is a stunning mix of colours and drags your eyes in.

From another thread, the coin at bottom right is also a real stunner. To me these are the pinnacle of the $2 series and since then, I feel the quality has declined a bit. Yes the new coins have more colour, but its just splashed, these are intricate designs and suggest real movement and colour.
