I have about 12 1980 Lincoln cents and I started looking at them under a magnifier. This is second result.
Can you tell me if this is a case of doubling on Lincoln's face with the inner ear and beard/cheek area, or a die break of some sort. I'm new at this so I am just not sure, because there are three prominent inner ear lines as well as the line down the cheek to the chin and neck.
I recommend using a variety listing like variety vista or Wexler's die varieties to cross reference so you don't have to ask about coins that have no known doubling in the area you're looking at. There is only one 1980 DDO listed that I know of. It shows most visibly on the date and is quite major.
