Found a 1962 penny no mint mark appears to be Steel or something of that matter it does stick to a magnet I cannot seem to find much about this is this a possible error

You found a plated cent (if it's silver in colour and sticks to a magnet).

Not zinc plated, it's magnetic so nickel plated.
