It's a nice looking coin, but $600 is too high for the grade, MS66RB have sold for less recently. Just watch it until the end, then bid appropriately, if you really want it that bad. $600 isn't crazy money for a coin like this with good eye appeal but I'd call it more a BN coin with that much dark toning, or understand the coin would possibly not get a RB designation if resubmitted again in the future. Color does change and none of the TPGs will guarantee the color on copper coins.

Just for comparison here is a 65 RD for less $ https://www.davidlawrence.com/product/2102790/

and here is one that sold for a lot less very recent https://www.greatcollections.com/Co...CGS-MS-65-RB

See the history of them at Great Collections a good tool to use and see prices sold of actual coins in the market. You need an account to access these but it's free to sign up and worth it for this feature alone.

I like the eye appeal on this one as well. However, I personally wouldn't pay any more than the current bid ($405). If you're willing to pay $600, I would hold out for a better example. IMO.

Beautiful coin. I wouldn't bid $600, but if you can get it at a reasonable price it'd be a nice coin to acquire for sure.

I'd go with the expert opinions here on value but I'll say that is some amazing toning. Has a purple look.

To me a 'Must Buy' coin is one that's 'Too Cheap' not to pass up. This coin is very nice, but there are a large number of high grade 1972 Doubled Die Obverse coins to be found in the market. The other thing that makes a coin a Must Buy is how you feel about it. If the coin is the grade, color and price you want, then Yes, but remember, you may want to sell it someday and then it will have to make someone else's Must Buy list.
