Been a forum lurker for a little bit and like the info here.
I have never really considered myself to be a coin collector or anything like that so to speak but have always loved the older coins, dollar coins and things like that. I recently started going thru some of my dads old coins and some of mine as well and some random change.
I found this and I am wondering what the heck happened here. Some of the stuff looks like it could be die faults and others look like....well I have no idea. I was hoping some of you could chime in on what you think. I have multiple pictures of flaws and will post them.
Lol I guess so, I was just like holy crap what happened here. Wouldn't think the metal would be flowing out like it is if it were a chisel though? Am I right or wrong in that thinking? Only time I've ever seen that is with a torch but the coin would be fried and discolored. Maybe it happened early on and over time its worn to give it not such a jagged feel.
