Hi guys,

Below is an attached picture from a 1 Pound coin found in circulation in 2018. I notice a doubling in queen's portrait. Machine or die doubling? Do you see those in new 1 pounds often? I remember seeing something similar in recent post 2008 50p coins but cant say Its common or no5neince I do not live in the UK. Any comments?

Hiya, This is Die Deterioration Doubling (notice that it occurs all around the design). 2016 Was a huge mintage date, and QC was notoriously bad. These come up frequently in change, but sometimes command a small premium as a curiosity on the 'bay.
