I really like the MAD on the OBV, very nice. I would have thought the back was just a gouge from PMD. What are the indicators it is a strike through and not damage? I would hate to toss back one from not knowing lol

1. No pushed over metal or impact marks,usually clear to see if it were hit or damaged

2. No residual damage or signs at all on the opposite side of the strike thru "All actions have a re-action" Usually the best example of this are counterstamped coins.

3. The area is flush and clean,showing me it was struck into the coin with alot of force. (the dies coming together)

Those are the main focus points for me.

Whats up with the raised metal through the base of AMERICA that continues north, parallel to the rim, like a Ridge Ring on cents. Some type of chipping and Die Deterioration?

Mad coin with possible rim bur struck through on the coin. If the weight is normal it is probably a struck through (added weight to coin, but fell off the coin)
