Many, MANY contemporary counterfeits of this series out there.

Your piece, mushy as noted, looks to be a cast. Generally speaking, the struck CCs - the goofier the design, the better - are most desirable.

I have a very similar coin. The date is difficult to determine. Definitely cast CC.

Don't know much about this topic so I ask if crummy sand cast coins were from the states or local coinage alone?.
I've had legitimate coins that look just as bad.
I don't recall if any of them had Republica Mexicana on them or not.

Definitely lots of CCs throughout the other States' copper emissions...

Specifically regarding the Mo mint type shown above... there are definitely lots of poor quality regal pieces (planchet flaws, weak strikes - pronounced die clashed are also common). When you look at enough, however, you can tell a poorly made regal Mo apart from the CCs.
