I made two orders, the Morgan confirmed hours ago, but not a peep on the Peace order. My skin is getting itchy ...

Some people feel that they are entitled to a coin, what the mint does is try to make it available equally to everyone (tries being the operative word) some of us work around the obstacles to try and get what we want and if we don't it's not the end of the world. Others think the mint should cater to them as they have been buying for years or are active collectors. Trying to get these was fun and probably made the coins more desirable. If I didn't get them I would have "sucked it up", as I wasn't fast enough or my method didn't work, I would try something different if it didn't work but it's been working since the 2019-S ERP.

Hopefully when you all get your new cards, you can just update it in your profile and the Mint will use it when they ship.

That's what I did. My new card has the same number, just a different expiration date.
I"m just going to keep my eyes crossed until October and hope it goes through.

Looking at the box, the lettering is stuck on top then was lacquered or varnished (an epoxy coating) over them. The first step would be to determine if the finish could be replicated where the lettering is taken off to make it blend with the original finish. I (If I do this) would like to keep the US Mint and coin logo intact. Next thing to think about is matching the color of the box well if the paint gets damaged when scraping off the lettering...

plus they are sending me a quarter for free
So I actually came out 25 cents to the good.

I plan to buy presentation felt or wood boxes on ebay that hold two coins. I will have a cases set up for the Morgans 1921 P next to a 2021 P, 1921 D next to 2021 D, and so on. Same for the Peace dollar. Guardhouse makes a nice wood display box with a glass top.

I wonder if there is a correlation between age and those complaining about the Mint's website now...I assume the older crowd is less tech savvy and slower on the keyboard.

I doubt human age has anything to do with it. More likely the Mint servers cannot handle all the traffic at release time.

The concert ticket comparison is correct. I've lost out on numerous tickets and had to buy them on the secondary market at higher prices to see The Stones, Paul McCartney, etc. I guess I did Suck It Up and pay more. But peaceful complaining is a good thing. I hope the Mint does better in the future.

The simple fact is - the website is broken. It worked for some people, not for others. If you got one, you are happy and can't understand why others are upset. If you didn't get one after 30 minutes of you-know-where, you can't understand why the lucky few are so dismissive. I had a rough time each of the three release days. I'm "tech savvy" enough to understand that it wasn't anything on my end. Over these three events, I tried multiple tabs / one tab. Tried preloaded CC info / entering it each time. All the permutations. I'm a long-term customer and have had no issues until these three "presale" releases. I was successful on the first two attempts - frozen out this time if not for having someone else trying for me as well.

I have no problem telling the Mint their stuff needs looking after and fixing. Still peeved about the dealers getting in ahead of everyone else. That's not cool. If they want to market their items through third party sellers so be it. I'm really at the extent of what I'm willing to pay for $25-30 of silver and won't be a customer of marked-up offerings.

So, I'm not angry about the experience, not happy about it, just here and working on my little corner of the hobby.

I was told I will receive a call when the order is processed if there is a CC issue. I sure hope they contact me.

Now that I think of it I did receive an email August of 2020 about an issue with my order where they wanted me to contact them. So this may help alot of people with their orders if they continue the same way as before.

If its just stuck on top, then I may want to try to match the current color scheme of the new style of box (like a black matte). That way it would at least stick out a little and be different. Then look at laser engraving the Mint logo and coin detail on the top. Then either use a black glossy to fill in or a silver. That way there is no blending needing. Guess I have a few projects to do now. I do like the new outer box design, which turns to disgust when you open up the box to see the cheap insert...

So, I thought that I did not get an order in. I noticed earlier that my card has the temporary charge on it. And now I see in my order history that there is an order processing, with a USM order #. I still don't have the email confirmation that usually comes within an hour or two. I am not sure if I should get my hopes up or not. Has anyone else had an order seem like it didn't work, but then it did?

Yes my last order prior to this one I didn't get an email but the charge was on my account and then next day I saw the order on my history.

If it's an order on your account chances are good you got an order.

Careful, Sonny, I'm 60 and doing just fine when it comes to technology. I managed to get every coin sale the mint put up from the V75 onwards. Including almost all the gold as well (I tried for but didn't get the V75 4-coin Gold set - but seeing that only 1945 were made, it's no wonder).

I agree with Dearborn above the ability to get the coins has nothing to do with age, my brother tried for the 2019 S-ERP and failed why I 11 years older succeeded. Must be how much you want it
