Can anybody offer any idea to may be the correct evauation of this coin. Wrong planchet? Wrong composition used? No error at all? It's weight is within tolerance but its diameter is a lttle small at approx 24 mm. Just need the opinion of folks with more experience to shed some light on this cuz I'm in the dark here.

I am new to this world and my Bday is today ...43 and I don't know much in this Coin World. However, I know a silver quarter weighs 6.25 grams vs the standard quarter which weighs 5.670 grams that is. With that said,it is definitely odd looking for sure with no copper showing on edge, but the weight really does verify alot. In this case (because I am new and this is just what I would do) I would make some calls to some local coin shops (to see are they even interested in educating you or the coin. You can usually tell in their voice if your a pest or not. In my experience, and I am always very courteous, in Seattle Washington and surrounding cities, some coin people are flat out rude and I dunno "uppity? they definitely think highly of themselves, they know everything and have seen everything and have nothing left to learn and you are a pion and not worthy of their presence. (Don't let them discourage you their just mad they didnt make the find you did (if you make one you'll always have haters so follow your guy) and others are fantastic and are more than willing to help you as much as they can just because they simply love it. I have a Huge amount of respect and admiration for those in the know. I met a guy who's been doing this for 50 years and he said he's still learning and thats what keeps him sucked in, the endless varieties and so many more discoveries waiting to happen. Cheers All!

Clad=5.70
Silver=6.25
First thought is a plated coin,silver or platinum.
Also looks like a minor off center strike or a MAD on both sides?

to the CCF!

with John1. Something has covered the copper or discolored it.

ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Currently on offer on ebay:

It was a big fad to sell these plated coins. A lot of people overpaid for them, and eventually spent them when they found out that they were only worth face value.
