Another coin from the trade with QuarterHoarder72. A nice RPM with an impressive re-punching. Difficult to see in lower grade and another one I didn't have in the collection yet. Thanks for taking a look!

Wexler lists this one as:

Quote:

1944-D 1¢ WRPM-002 "Best of" Variety
Description: D/D Northeast
Die Markers: Obverse: Die scratches across Lincoln's coat. Die scratches above the Y of LIBERTY. Slanted die scratch below Lincoln's ear. Die scratch on Lincoln's collar to the upper left of his bow tie. Reverse: Die crack from the rim running SW to the right edge of the right wheat stalk.
Cross References: CONECA: RPM #7, Cherrypickers: FS-01-1944D-504 (021.11), Coppercoins: 1944D-1MM-007

The image on his site shows the RPM a lot better:

When I first saw this example, I thought it looked like the D/S, but realized that is just appeared to be an 'S', but it is not.

It does mimic the shape of FS-511. A nice RPM nevertheless.

These buggers are really quite rare for what is in general an easy one to see. Great example.

Thank you Tropicalbats! A lot of these more under-appreciated varieties are quite rare.

That's a rare one too! Good trade. I've got an extra 1934 D FS-504 LDS I've been thinking about trading.

Wow CH. Great example. What did you have to trade to get all these from (this and 1909 post)?

Shedius, I traded some unique error coins he was interested in. A good deal for us both. Thanks!
