I see a 5 near the rim at the edge of his coat, so I'd say no S...just eyes and mind playing tricks

There is no "S" mint mark on that coin. There never was a mint mark on that coin. Your eyes are playing tricks on you.

This phenomenon has happen to most of us at one time or another. Welcome to the club!

If that photo is truly what the fields of that Lincoln Cent looks like , then it's by all means possible, that an S
mint mark could have been there at one time .
of full coin obverse and reverse .

In the condition it's in, even if it were a real 1909-S, I'd probably sell it and get one that's actually nicer looking.
