Ok - so I have seen posts that are determined to be a "vise job". Is this what I have here or is it an error? The things that I noted were

- Both semicircles seem to match a penny
- It appears that the lower smaller semicircle has indentations that potential match the column spacing from the memorial above?
- There appears to be a number 8 and another number in the "C" of cent
- The edge thickness is different in the areas affected
- Stress cracking on obverse in area affected

So what do you think? vise job?

Ps - John1 - I have noticed your "nudging" for a 100 post contest. At first I was wondering what you were talking about, but have since figured it out. I will read up on what others have done and the rules and will see about putting something together.

Spendable. Even certain types of pliers can alter a soft coin. Just a damaged coin now.

My vote is for this being a vise job too.

Thanks all. What I figured, but since it was the first one I had seen, I wanted to ask.
