But people are buying them, enough so that they do not have to lower prices to increase sales.

People don't buy them because most of the products will be on ebay for 1/2 to 2/3 the mint's price after a few months. The mint is doing the gimmick thingy now with the "W" mint and special finish "free" add-on items to sell proof and mint sets. With the cent and nickel W add-on coins done they'll probably do W dimes, quarters and half dollars the next 3 years. They are just jacking up the prices to cover the extra coins. Nothing is "free" ... especially from the mint!

For those who chase low mintages:
There will be a limited production number of 213,000 for the 2020 US Annual Mint Set. That number makes it the lowest mintage/sales number for annual mint sets since 1959.

I'll just wait until silver goes back to $10 an ounce and buy them on ebay.

Well the US mint just announced today that they will be raising all Silver Numismatic products on their Facebook. Now they did not mention a price but we might see an even higher price and that starts October 13th for the Silver Coins. They want to align with other mints products/prices such as the Perth Mint and Royal Mint.
