I recently got this oddly shaped coin and thought there might be other examples of "turning the tables" on this thread: http://goccf.com/t/267806

I have seen lots of clipped coins, but never one that was done so symmetrically as to suggest it might work as a guitar pick:

Anyone have other examples of coins that might be put to use for something else?

Could be, or it could have been used to strum or pluck thethe stings of a different instrument. Back when this coin was issued most strings were made from animal intestine so a pick like this would have been a bit overkill, but maybe the player liked the sound he got.

I do have a quarter under a leg of my kitchen table to keep it from wobbling. Does that count?

Oops! Didn't know there was already a thread for this...

I will re-post over there, and ask the mods freeze (or kill, or whatever) this one.

Oh yes I forgot , Mercs with FSB's . The lines in the bands give them a better grip to screw and unscrew .

I almost forgot about that! I also have done so in a pinch (it beats walking to the garage to find a real screwdriver.
Also, I remember a few months ago I used a quarter to open the bottom of my vacuum cleaner to change the belt. Just a 90-degree turn on three plastic 'bolts' and the piece pops right off.
