Finally! I lost a PCGS MS64 example of this variety on ebay a couple months ago to Willburton. Boy am I glad I did!

I cherry picked this for $41 off ebay all said and done. I couldn't be happier! This variety has been on my radar for quite some time now, and to have found one in a 66 makes it even better. It may just be my best cherry-pick yet!

I identified this variety not by the doubling but by the die scratches above the date and the planchet cracks on the reverse.

Thank you for taking a look!

Beautiful coin! Amazing cherry-pick, worth a pretty penny too. Awesome the way you picked it out too, not even with doubling but with markers!

Please explain the jagged marks from the rim into the field above and below "Liberty".

Thanks GC! Coinfrog, I believe the jagged marks above and below Liberty are some kind of die flaw or strike through. What's very interesting about these flaws, strike throughs and the cracks on the reverse is that they are present on a number of the FS-101s. If you look through the images of PCGS graded FS-101s, you will see a lot of the same marks on the obverse and reverse, including the strike throughs near the date.

Look at this example here and you can see a lot of the same markers:

@ch27, thx for providing that explanation of the radial marks near LIBERTY. I had the same question as the frog.
