Hi. Is this trail die or simply Die Deterioration. I looked over at Trails by RNeff & RPiazza but there is no listing for a trail die on a 1968 LMC. Your comments please. Thanks

junjie

junjie, not a trail die, polishing lines. Most likely from trying to remove clash marks.

No die break Mike, remains of N in ONE from a clash.

I don't see any clash marks at all, but the lines are die polish lines. Trails are pulled from the corners of letters and other devices - sort of like stretching taffy.

As Chuck said, these are die polishing or abrasion lines caused by the removal of a die clash.
