g'day ..im Bob and I'm new here ..2004 Australian 50c coin with the letters ....A U S ...?.printed on
the South Rim like its a fold over of another coin.
and on the direct operset of the north Rim the south Rim has ...like
the grids of a 20c coin Rim ..but only starts from the the 11 after
ELIZABETH..and ends at the A in Australia..and the grids are only on
the dated side edge and going 1/2 way of the thikness of the 50c
coin's Rim starting from the dated side edge and running to the
colarla, loriket, wombat side stopping 1/2 way... the grids seem
larger and fuller than the 20c coin's grids....Also ..between the ..T
and H ..in ELIZABETH ...there is ? ..flack from the Die ?. .Plus the
north side has a double Rim edging from
11 and A on the dated side. lol sorry but yes there is more. but ill
leave this for now . yes all of this is on one 50c 2004 Australian
coin. Is this what is called mule by two ?
could some one enlighten me on what I'm looking at please.

Hi Chm8Tin2 and to the forum!

Yes there certainly does appear to be a lot going on with this coin ... could you please also show photos of the entire coin, both sides.

A lot going on after a lot of banging and crashing in the shed. PMD for sure.

Due to the lettering on the edge being reversed plus the very noticeable dings on 2 of the coins 'corners' at 12 & 6 there is no doubt that someone has tried to make this into an 'error' coin, but all they've achieved is a 100% PMD.

Probably also ruined a 20c coin in the process

Sorry, not a mule, not an error, just a spender, worth 50c
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

Looks like a damaged rim - possibly using a 20 cent piece.

My personal opinion:

If the AUS is bulging in the coin, I think it would be PMD

If the AUS is bulging out, then I think there is high possible for error

Like NEVOL said above, the AUS is backwards and that would
indicate that someone has held another coin on this, possibly
a 20c and stuck it with a hammer, so as to leave the imprint
on the 50c coin. Otherwise they may have just squeezed it in
a vice. Either way it's described as a shed job.

You can see where the metal has splayed on opposite sides of the coin due to force being applied.

I agree with coaster. It looks like force has been applied with a 20 cent piece (reverse lettering)

If it was an error..... Ugly error lol

Keep searching and good luck, Chm8Tin2!
