Attention

We need your help

I have heard from John he is in contact with Nancy & myself
he is trying to locate a copy of his fathers book if he finds one he will allow us to post it on the web for viewing but in the meantinme he is looking for some assistance he is looking for error coin photos

I am posting excerpts of his email to me below
but first this is the web page he refers to in the e mail

http://www.lachlanhunter.deadsetfre...es-coins.htm

Quote:
Dear Richard,

Please do. (post copy of book on your website when project completed)

I've made a mail box [Byrnes-MAB-book] to keep any correspondence on this.

I've also started a webpage which I will add to.

Have you got any error coin photos I could add there .. as at the moment I
don't have any coin photos .. sure I soon will though.

The webpage is:
http://www.lachlanhunter.deadsetfre...es-coins.htm

It explains the situation.

Which is that the book's print version is lost (even who the printer was I
can no longer determine .. someone up Lake Macquarie way towards Newcastle
I think .. but details lost .. may turn up again.

The only sure way of reproducing the book for more people is to cut up a
copy and PDF scan it.

First I have to find a copy that can be "sacrificed" this way.

Thanks for your interest.

I'll start adding web links, beginning with yours.

Best Regards,

John Byrnes

this is a good project for all of us to be involved in

I've now got a postal address for Ian Mcconnelly & have sent the info to John so they can communicate directly. I hope this all works out, as eventually we collectors will be the 'winners'.

He is the author of a review of the book in the Tassie Numismatist newsletter dated April 2000.

http://www.vision.net.au/~pwood/april2000.htm

He obviously had a book in his possession then, and I should imagine still has it & might allow it to be copied, especially if the requestor is the holder of the copyright.

Hi ford_prefect, If I PM'd the email address of Mostyn's son John, would you mind sending the PDF to him? He has a website set up to place any/all info he can get re the book.

Hi Nancy,
Don't drop in very regular, happy to do so,
looking at the other thread it appeared all
had been sorted.
John Dean's 1965 Cat. is also proving scarce.

The book does look like it's scarce and from the sources that I'm looking at in google, prices are pretty outrageous.

Does look interesting.
