Also the extra width of the devices is caused by a Struck Through Grease error. How can you tell if it is a Struck Through Grease error? Note the height of the devices. See how short they are on this coin. The grease prevents the tops of the devices to rise on the coin. With enough grease in the devices on the die, the letter can be blocked out totally.

With grease that is wiped with a cloth, the grease can be moved to make the devices look angled. To tell if it is a doubled die, note that the devices would need to show the contour of the devices. So when they are low like the example above, they will be wider, but shortened.

the the CCF!

The "two step" reverse rim (seen in images #3 and #4) makes me wonder if the coin was encased at some point. Encased Coins don't circulate, but pick up odd marks and damage because they are handled differently. This might also account for color differences in the obverse and reverse.

I don't see any desirable doubling on the coin, only Machine Doubling and some weakness in UNITED STATES oF AMERICA that could be the result of a slight Grease Filled Die.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!
