I have been collecting coins since 1963, started with my whitman# 9030 Lincoln Cent STARTING FROM 1941. Since then I have just been using whitman , fold out type albums. When I found the whitman# 9141, with the "view windows" and plastic back and front protection I was in the least, feeling great.I have been using these kind of albums for a long time.I have seen on this site most people stating they use a DANSCO71? OR W/E.I was in a local shop looking for some albums and there they were, what appeared to be the album of all albums, now I am loving the fun of filling the dansco#7102 with some long saved mint condition Lincoln Cent coins and among other things, I need to get out more often.I can't believe how nice these are, I love the whitmans, but this is like an early christmas present, I love it....

The big difference for me is the color. Do you like the deep blue of Whitman or the tannish color of Dansco. Because you'll be living with it for some time!

I like both long as it is something to store my coins in... I am partial to the dansco but will use a whitman no problem.. I am not to big on the presentation being I am the only one who sees it besides the safe walls

For the first few years I used the Whitman folders, but for almost 24 years now I have been using the Dansco albums.

I just started using Dansco Albums because Whitman albums are getting harder and harder to find, especially single pages. The other reason is Dansco has an album for storing 2x2's which works well with my collection of world coins minted by the US. Try to find pages with holes for various countries on a page. Plus I can arrange them as I want.

I have never bought an an album new unless the occasional Capital holder counts.
I have bought thousands of 2x2s and 1-1/2x1-1/2s though.

As you read different threads everyone will give you different opinions about them and what they feel, and they are all right. What you choose to use is a personal choice and preference. For me, I use them all for different types of collections and conditions.
My Dansco folders are for my nicer sets and items I would like to show off. I then use the similar Whitman folders with plastic for my mid grade and up coins and the cheaper Whitman and Harris folders for very low grades. I like to see the different grades and the older ones are nice because if someone touches the coin you do not freak out about its condition and if it will tone or not.

I start my collectiions in whittman folder, and when the collection "grows up", it's time for Dansco..Worth the money for me and easy to updgrade coins. I have 10 collections in Dansco's as of now.
BTW anybody seen a new page or new Dansco for 08 and up Lincoln's?
