Thanks coop. I'm not saying this is a doubled die or even anything significant just a possible error. Everything maybe incuse but it seems like a planchet a die or a striking thing.

The OP's quarter suffers from post-strike damage.

Thanks mikediamond. I thought I had something here. I was wondering how could the rim not be filled in by the strike but I have a photo showing it's possible. I'm not contradicting the PMD verdict just trying to get an understanding of how this happens. Appears to have concentric and radial lines indicating massive force to shockwave the metal and leave minimal damage particularly to the rim. I would think the rim would be blown out with thos kind of force. That's was just my crazy theory. In the end of course I have to go with your expertise

Looks like my goose is cooked with this coin but here's why I thought even with the rim void this could be possible. PMD

What is the relationship of this last coin to the first coin you posted? You shouldn't confuse the thread by posting several different coins.

I was showing how a void in the rim could happen when a coin is struck. I'm thinking that's the main reason for PMD theory. Not to conflate this with that but that was my initial thought which proved to be wrong

Sorry mikediamond but I'm still new at this and still figuring things out with the coin collecting. I know most of the errors but not everything. I have to agree with the consensus. PMD

I'm familiar with Mike Diamond's great contributions to the hobby. What would make you think otherwise? I acknowledged this is PMD. Now what?

One of the best things that can happen here is for mike diamond to take the time to comment on one of our questionable coin conquests. I do realize that. This is a great forum
