Hello everyone I'm new to this coin collecting thing. Today I was going threw my change when I spotted this 1981 mint D quarter which I believe apon looking things up that it is doubled die. Is this correct? I'm not sure what the value would be for the quarter if it's even worth more than 25 cents to be honest. But wondering if anyone can help me out. I have some other very cool coins as well and was hoping for help if anyone can assist me it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Could you please tell us exactly where you see doubling, and maybe show us a close-up photo of the area?

Much larger images, please, with close-ups of the areas you believe show doubling.

Like the 1968 Cents, the devices were getting pushed into the rim on that year and the next year. But in 1983 they created a new master hub. So they went back to normal for a while until the master hub needs to be replaced:

Note how swelled the design was because of the master hub issue. Not the size of the head and the size of the devices. That is what you are seeing on you 1981 quarter. Not a doubled. You can see how the devices moved towards the rim:

When the die design is enlarged from the master hub, the dies show get closer outer.
