Being new to coin collecting I can't tell what is going on with the reverse top edge as well as the mint mark on the obverse? Is this normal and if so, can someone tell me what it's called? Is it just wear and tear because to me it looks like it was struck wrong....but again I'm new so what do I know? Lol

Parking lot find. The plating gets split with the sand and small pebbles there. Splits the plating when ran over, and the the rot sets in.
