Not necessarily this coin, but what method does this forum recommended for flipping high value coins? Is ebay too risky?

I never use ebay for anything but so many others do it may well be your best bet.

I don't see why there would be risk on ebay if you do your research and set your BIN price accordingly (rather than hold an auction).

That said, I've never bought with the intention of flipping.

Flipping "high value" coins is generally best suited for those that know what they are doing, just like flipping houses.

If you intend to flip a high value coin--do it indoors in a carpeted room, wearing cotton gloves.

As with anything, there is always a risk with flipping a high value coin. You could have the buyer say they never got it, you could have the coin holder returned and no coin. There isn't a lot of protection on ebay for a seller. I generally limit what I sell on ebay to no more than $300. Anything more, I would sell someplace else, but that's me. But also take into consideration that 99% of the sales on ebay probably go through with no issues (just a guess, no facts but as so many people sell on there, its assumed its somewhat safe).

ebay is fine, you can take out additional insurance if you are really concerned (I did this for a gold coin I sold once, reasonably priced). You might not get the exposure of HA/Stacks/etc... just don't start it at $0.01. Set a opening bid you are happy with and wait for it to sell, maybe include a BIN if you are so inclined. One of the nice things about ebay is the relatively low fees 10% vs. 15-20% buyer premiums. If you are patient, ebay sometimes sends out promo's for no seller fees (or at least I get them from time to time).
