Can you sharpen up that obverse pic?

Sharper pics would be beneficial.
Typical reverse strike/die state , tentative Ms64

Looks like a strike through pudding. Unless/until additional photos are posted, I'll go with MS62.

Typical strike for a 1969 D. Absence of steps is as usual for this date and MM. It looks MS64 or maybe even 65 from what I can see.

you are correct with your comment. one side is not enough. if that reverse was even a little sharper I think it would make MS65 but that strike is really poor. I'm going to just take one point for strike as the obverse and unbroken luster may bring it in at MS64

Crisper pic with intentional highlighting of face. Jaw upper has a strike on it The rest of the marks are not visible with coin in hand.

I would say MS 62 (you are too kind!) , this year is so hard to find quality coins! When did the Jefferson nickels resolve the minting issues, there must be an issue with the design of the obverse and reverse not working together, any alloy issues? I worked on early 60s proofs for Jeffies to identify varieties, but wow, what a brutal decade for the business strike coin...am I mistaken?

Things improved for Jeffs in 1971 upon a fresh master.
