If these are auction site photos, how does the color compare with the coin in hand?

By how the photo look wat grade do u think it might be. I have done some research on Morgan dollar toning . I do think it is NT but I'm just a newbie so I can't be positive. Wat do u think? For my guesses it a PL 66

Morgan dollar collector here! I would say it is NT and MS-66. Perhaps PL. Was it PL in the auction description?

This looks like a proof strike, not a prooflike business strike. Prooflike 1901-P Morgans are very uncommon. The toning and surfaces on proof coins can be very deceptive in photos, and you'll have to see how it compares once you receive it. And to CCF!

I'm with Zurie on this one. Looks to be a proof. Could be NT, but these pictures look too washed out with a few hotspots on the reverse. Will comment on that and grade with in hand pics.
Edit: looking at this closer, I'm almost positive this is a proof. Primarily focusing on the reverse devices and the date.

Is that a fingerprint on the obverse?

Why is this coin not slabbed? Any dealer with any coin sense would not sell a coin that looks like this unslabbed...they would be leaving money on the table!
I'm guessing the coin has 110% been played with (doctored) and did not pass muster when it was sent in for grading. I also think the photos have been doctored to enhance the coin's appearance.
Will be interesting to see what it really looks like when it gets to you. Thanks for posting!
