Full photos of the coin's obverse and reverse would be cool. Given the single, partial image posted, I'd say toning caused by exposure to environmental agents. While not quite as common as with copper coins, it does happen with clad coins. Full photos would tell a more complete story.

Also see a little doubling on E PLURIBUS UNIM.

I'm not seeing anything out of the ordinary as far as toning on this coin. It's been out there for more than forty years so it's impossible to know what it's been in contact with that colored and stained the coin.

when you look at it close up under the scope, its not typical silver, as in the first pic I posted. its brownish and changes colors as you move it in the light
