So I just found this quarter today . . . I'm pretty excited about it but not sure what I should do with it. I haven't seen any 1990 D Quarters posted with a doubling so prominent as is this one... Any suggestions? Should I be sending it in for grading? It's not in the next shape as it has small scratches from circulation.. But what do you all think?

I think if I am noticing correctly that a real doubled die will show a distinct separation of the letters or numbers. Like on the "S" I noticed you can see at the bottom curve where it has a notch where the letter is proved to not be Machine Doubling but actually doubling of the letter... Please correct me if I'm wetting. I'm still fairly new to this . I was reading about how to tell the difference in doubling and this seems to me to be as close to the real McCoy as you can get if I'm not mistaken...? I hope I'm not!

It is Machine Doubling on a motto. There is also heavy die wear present and figure in circulation flattening. Variety Vista shows the only DDO's in the 1990's are on the proof quarters:
http://www.varietyvista.com/09b%20W...Listings.htm
Just one year 1990-S on a proof
http://doubleddie.com/1827609.html
1997-P
http://doubleddie.com/2337937.html
So they are not found yet if there were a DDO that year.

The devices look to be rounded. They are not flat at all? It looks like the S and the T are just sitting on top? And there are splits in the serifs...? Is it possibly that it could be that no one has found this yet? I can see Machine Doubling on the mint mark but it is in the opposite direction and it is clearly machine doubled. Also on the date there is slight Machine Doubling in the same direction as the mine Mark. Can that happen? Machine double on the same coin in opposite directions?

As far as I know it's possible to have both dd and md on the same coin.

I tried to get better pictures to show the roundness and the splits...do you think I should send it in to be graded or? Because there are none that have been found yet... What do you think something like this would be worth?

This is a normal coin. So it would not be worth grading spending up to $50 to grade a quarter face value coin. I know I'd never do that.

I've looked at it from every such way I can and it clearly has hub doubling. My camera isn't the best. And it has slight Machine Doubling in opposite way on date and mint Mark. I also noticed Liberty has the sane markings as the 1934 Washington quarter DDO. Which grading service would any one recommend? NGC or PCGS?

Yours has extreme die wear and MD reducing the regular size of the devices. Note on the DDO-001, the devices are enlarged with a spread seen on the devices.

There are definetly splits in the serifs tho. On the S and the G and the W. My camera and lighting and the fact that there is slight MD on the date and mintmark and super die deteriation or grease on motto doesn't help. But if I can get a better camera and lighting would help. The devices look bigger to me? Just layered on top of another motto almost . . . I'm not a beginner at this... It would really shock me if this was not a DDO ... I've seen all characteristics of a DDO but in the pictures I can't seem to capture what I can see thru my 20x loop...

Also I noticed in the 1934 DDO the word liberty has doubling and this quarter shows very similar markings. I'll post pictures. I also have a 1926 Lincoln Cent with possible lamination error? Should I post a separate thread ?

Your quarter is not a proof coin, so no DDO. I also agree with coop, Machine Doubling and circulation flattening as seen on the motto.

Yes please post other coins in their own thread. One coin per thread, please.

No, not worth having this coin graded. Check ebay's SOLD listings to see what graded examples actually sold for as an indication of final value. If you do send it in somewhere, it might be an expensive education you might regret.

your second set of images are much better.
I'm not well versed in clad DDO's but there does seem to be notching on the bottom right of UST (TRUST). The center circle of the upper R (TRUST) also seems smaller, as well as slightly filled.
(See your image below that I added arrows.)

While most people might not be comfortable sending this one in to Variety Vista because of the cost (+-$20), I would, to confirm it as a DDO or to correct my understanding.

thanks for sharing a please let us know what you decide to do.
