This hasn't really ever effected me so I'm not personally complaining myself, but....does it bother anyone that the Mint usually releases new issues at noon Eastern Time? If you're Joe Blow with a desk job on the East Coast presumably you can attempt to secure a coin as it's your lunchtime, but if you live out in the provinces it's not and might be difficult to get time away to place the call(s).

I giggled a bit while reading your post. You evidently think that people here actually have jobs and work restrictions. I don't know the actual numbers, but I feel that probably half of us here are retired and have all day long to tinker with our hobbies. I do wonder if we could get a poll of us someday.

Assuming that the overall age range data have stayed constant over the past 10+ years, it looks to me like most folks on CCF are pre-retirement. http://goccf.com/t/32889

The problem is, no matter what time you choose to have the release it is going to be an inconvenience for someone. Especially since most collectors are on or close to one of the coasts. Noon on the east coast is 9Am on the west coast. People in the east may be at lunch but it is a bad time on the west coast. Make it noon west coast time and it is 3 PM east coast and they are inconvenienced. Move it to after work say 6PM west coast and it is 9PM east coast Frankly though that would probably be the best solution though. (of course it won't work well for 2nd or 3ed shift workers, but there are less of them than 1st shift people.

Tomorrow's releases are 9 AM EST. 6 AM for you on the west coast. It is not going to be pretty.

Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't even notice it. Do you think this is to keep it close to the same time as it is released from Royal Mint? They are releasing at 1 pm, which if my math is right is 8 am EST.

Yes, 13:00 UK time (just after lunchtime for me over here) would be 08:00 on the East Coast. So far all of these releases have happened for me in the UK during my working day, each time so far I was on a Zoom call...good that I only had to listen and we did not have to enable video. I did not get the medal on the 9th but the ASE release on the 5th arrived at my brother's in Florida today. The 09:00 East Coast puts the release at 14:00 for me and that is on another call but that is a team meeting. So finger crossed I will be able to get the reverse proof silver medal. I have not decided on the silver medal set...no idea about The Royal Mint pricing.

Now this is confusing, the web site says a 9 am release but product notification email says The product you requested a reminder for will be available on November 17 at 12pm ET.

Must be a typo? My recent email says Join us November 17 at 9 a.m. ET and be among the first to own the Mayflower 400th Anniversary Coins and Medals

The email that I received today at 2:02pm and the text message that I received today at 3:31pm both say 9am. I hope all of the non-collecting flippers are thinking noon. kena, Do you have any insight regarding how things work on The Royal Mint's website. Right now there's not even a listing. Will they put one up beforehand or does it just appear when they go on sale?

Here is what the US Mint sent me: With regards to The Royal Mint, the link seems to only come active when the item goes on sale. I am not sure what is going to be best way to find the items on The Royal Mint site.

I suspect someone did not update the form when they changed from 12 noon to 9 am at some point.
