This was cherrypicked from a small lot of wheat cents on ebay. I was hoping for an earlier die state but still a nice variety. The north mint mark is oh so barely visible and the second south is not visible at all.

I take it the earlier punches were simply not deep enough?

Agreed, but the first South is still nicely visible. Well done!

Nice one. I have a lds example where the rpm isn't visible. Whatever came of your potential top pop?

Seeing an earlier die state, you can see why it is a D/D/D/D.

There is a lower loop that is missing and a mid loop that also disappears as the die ages and then comes back later. (it happens)

Yeah, it's a nice quad D when you can see it, but most of the examples I've seen have at least one missing from die wear.

Will, It is at PCGS right now so we shall know soon enough how it scores.

Soon is a bit of a stretch unfortunately. With regular tier no variety submissions taking upwards of 6 weeks I don't want to think about how long econ w/ varieties will. Honestly TB I think we'll be lucky to get the stuff back by Mid January

Ah yes, the wait for variety returns. But filling my time by pulling ever more things from the void so time passes quickly. Just scored two DDR-025s and a DDO-004/DDR-004 from a roll of 1963 proof cents so having a fine day as it is.

I prefer proof cent searches. At least you get some nice looking coins. Also when you find something, you know that they are one of 3K examples. Not huge numbers of them struck like business strike coins.
