1969 D No FG/Floating Roof Lincoln Cent

Worth 1c. Lord knows why this got an FS number as these are extremely common.

Seriously it's worth more than a cent. Heck it has more than a cents worth of copper...

I'm a dealer, so here is my experiance

I put those in 2x2s and sell them for a about one dollar. If they are red and unc then $5 to $7. They may be somewhat common in the aggregate, but to casual collectors they are very difficult to find.

Remember that in 1909, in the City of San Francisco, 08S and 09S Indians, as well as 09S LWC were "common". In fact let me expand on that. Growing up in San Francisco in the 60s it was the norm to find "S" minted cents. Finding "D" or "P" cents were a pain.

In fact one sure way to tell a contemporay collection of Lincolns in a Whitman folder is that the "S" mints will always grade higher than the others. In fact my Great Grandfather had a collection and his 09S' were in Unc/Au. While he had several hundred 09S' he only had about a dozen 14Ds and most them were in the VF range.

While your cent will never be worth what a key will bring. Rarity is relative.
