I dont know what it might be but I am guessing you are going to say Grease Filled Die or something but it threw me off because the whole earlobe is there. Its just flat like a bare spot in the coin, also it is flat in the demple area too. Picture might not show it like I see it but what do you think? 2 pictures

I'm going to have to say it's a polished die. That's the only thing that could cause a flat area like that.
