XF40 maybe 45. the haziness surrounding the photos make it difficult to determine surface originality. without better lighting I cant determine if it would grade straight

Ill wait for in hand pics to call this Details or not. Surfaces look very flat, old cleaning. Not alot of distracting hits, just even wear. XF40-45 for me.

Agree EF-40/45 sharpness but have no clue about the surfaces. Did you buy from these pics?

Photos are too pixelated to tell for sure, but XF-45 seems about right. Not sure about originality of the surfaces.

XF Details, cleaned . Personally, I would return it at that price, if that is an option. But that's just me.

Looks like 1843 OC-3. It's a solid EF-45.

I adjusted your photos to enhance color and reduce the glare. What I saw was an old cleaning, retoning, but likely market acceptable. The area below the cap is the most obvious remnant of the cleaning. The only distracting knock is the gouge east of the fourth star. The purchase price is right in the ballpark for an EF-45.

Thanks fortcollins. As usual you are spot on. I thought $520 + tax + $4 shipping was a fair price for this coin.

I leaned toward an old cleaning, but no matter. Congrats.
