For my birthday I received a box of pennies, dimes, 200in halves, and nickels. My family helped me go through all of them and we had them done in no time. In the box of pennies my sister pulled a 1910 Wheat penny. It is my oldest penny found from bank rolls in my collection and just my luck I wasnt even the one to find it. Happy Coin Hunting all!

Hi, I'm from Canada and I'm going to the U.S., people say that, at the bank, they can give money for bags of pennies (ex:50$ for 50$ worth of pennies). I wanted to ask, is it just 50$ for 50$ worth or can you do it with 5, 10 ,20, etc, thanks

I don't think you'll run into any problems of not having an account at a particular bank just to buy rolls or boxes. Les

It is really dependant upon the bank. The one that cooperates with me the most does so because I have an account, and because I pre-order. Sometimes they limit the amount of change they'll give me, just because they don't have enough for their business customers.
I've never had a problem going in to any random banks and just asking for say, $10 in nickels, or $25 in dimes. It's when you get in to quantities of pennies that they start giving me a difficult time. They want you to be an account holder.

I have to update my signature but is impossible to type there all the finds . I found couple v-nickels older then 1900 but never changed . You ll see if you search a lot of coins during a long period of time , they keep coming like the marines !
