Missing Most Digits On Date Of 1960 Lincoln Cent

WxMike New Member United States 21 Posts	Posted 11/24/2020 10:29 am I've come across missing digits on coins before, mostly from grease errors or just weakly punched planchets. However, I don't think I have seen a coin missing most of the digits in the date. It also looks very clean too, barely any trace of the numbers. I know its a 1960, since the zero has a distinct shape vs the one in 1970. Anyone ever seen something like this? Report this Post to the Staff

Having studied quite a few thousand LWC's in all years and all grades, I remain impressed that the upper eyelid is seldom worn or damaged even though it presents in high grade as if it were a very vulnerable detail. I don't see any damage around the date and believe with better pics this could be a Grease Filled Die. Report this Post to the Staff
