Undated And Unlisted Shield Nickel Cud

Adam_E Pillar of the Community United States 4846 Posts	Posted 11/25/2020 11:31 pm I found this Shield nickel Cud listed on ebay and looked on cudsoncoins to cross reference the Cud to find a date, but I can't find a similar looking Cud on any of the Shield nickels listed, could this potentially be an undiscovered Cud? I figured it would be unlikely due to the size of the Cud, but maybe not. Thanks in advance for your help! Report this Post to the Staff

I would have to see this in hand to view the Cud area. Seems awfully lg and inspect to see if it was manipulated to give the appearance of a Cud. So I can't help by looking it up. There are some really large Cuds on Shield nickels in that book. This one is a doozy! Also just because it's not listed at cuds-on-coins or in any of the big books certainly doesn't mean it's not known, there are a lot of lesser known Cud errors around.
