Tooting their own horn much?
A PCGS article starts out assuming readers see it as a "legendary" honor to have their name on a PCGS holder.
Good marketing department since its likely few readers take the time to think about that statement and it just gets stored in the brain.
I have talked extensively in the past with two former graders/dealers who were both trained and worked as "professional" graders. Both men, independent of each other, not at the same time, not knowing each other, and from different states, told me the same story. They quit working at grading companies for fear their own reputations as respected dealers would be tarnished if people found out the facts of how the grading was actually being done at the time vs. company claims. And, to be fair, I do not know how long ago this was either.
And since writing in a post cannot show the mood the writer is in...
This post is just factual and not meant to be flaming the company...just pointing out a marketing/thinking point being made.
I say an honest congratulations to Mr. Hawn! Obviously he deems the situation as something important/desirable, so good for him!
