What I do is have the coin on the desk, prop my elbows on the desk, hold the camera at mouth level or so (between 3 and 6 inches off vertical), and zoom in all the way (or if you have a good zoom, just the coin).

For the grade, don't quote me, but I'd guess between F12 and F15.

nobody else want to take a shot at this?
For the pic, I put the coin on a holder with a black background.
Using the macro feature on my camera I took the pic. I used ambient lighting. I seemed to get glare from the plastic covering.

That is a nice one! This bust of Ed the 8th typically was a bit weakly struck and seemed to have rather little detail to being with. So I'm going to say AU55 due to the fact that I see no wear on the reverse nor on the legend of the obverse.

This is a hard one.. the plastic is keeping it from really being unable to tell, but..the head band seems solid, everything else seems nicely struck, so I'll agree with AU.

Well the wait is over.
ICCS graded it at MS-64.
Just goes to show how bad photos can downgrade or upgrade a coin.

It's really hard thru the plastic, I blew it up and it looks a lot better , with trace of luster , I would think it would be AU.

Yes, I wouldn't expect to see so much original luster on a coin less than AU. I can't see details, but I suspect an MS6_RB.
And the fact it's in ICCS plastic means it wasn't put through Brasso to look that way.

to photograph these...

put the coin on a dark background.
do not use a flash - use indirect light
secure the camera so it does not move.
set the aperture to a high number - say f22 and the shutter to a low number, say 60.
set the timer to a few seconds.

adjust the aperture and shutter until it is correctly exposed.

a high f stop will reduce the amount of light, and the slow shutter leaves the opening open longer to allow light to enter the camera longer.

i used this to get these to come out nicely.
