Welcome, based off the quality it looks like a vintage bar or a home pour imitating a company. I'm no expert in bullion so someone with more experience should be able to give you more info on the origin location.

@p3, first welcome to CCF. Second, that does look a bit like a home pour and I wonder if "JMI" isn't supposed to conjure up the idea of Johnson Matthey. Certainly worth bringing to a coin shop to have them confirm it is actually silver.

Thanks to everyone that has replied to my listing! Very happy I joined the CCF community! Going tomorrow to gold and silver exchange and get the bar checked out. Will be back to tell everyone what they said.

Good Day everyone! So I took the bar to get tested at CR Coins and I did find out that the Bar is 100% silver and all the #'s on the bar matched the scale he had. He said it could possibly be an old Johnson Matthey Inc. dating back to the late late 70's early 80's. Said it could be a very collectable bar to some collectors.

My first thought was that it was a vintage JM bar as well, but my initial research and follow up research found me no similar specimens like your bar, not even close. Every bar I've seen has 1. Never been marked as a JMI initialed bar, just JM and 2. Always marked with a logo stamp, never just letter stamps.
This leads me to two possible conclusions:
Either it's an extremely old undocumented(or at least rare enough that documentation is extremely scarce) JM bar, before the logo stamp was even created
Or its a different, now defunct company bar that happens to have the initials JMI and is similarly undocumented.
I will do some more research tonight, and see if I come across anything similar to your bar.

Hey that is great news @p3. At the very least it is worth melt, which is a pretty hefty sum!
