Hi Everyone! Is this is a 13ST2 Nickel? It can't be a 1923-S because the mm is different, and the shaft of the 7 isn't bent to the bar like this? Any info is greatly appreciated!

You might be right, but what does it matter?

I always look at the sunny-side of things. It might not matter to You, specifically, but I'll take any gainful knowledge wherever I may find it

Nice hobo!

I think it's a later vintage than 1913! 1936 would be my guess!

Actually, it does matter. Some collectors assemble date and mintmark sets of original hobos.

Wow, didn't know that! Tell me, what is considered an original hobo, and how do you distinguish it from something made later?

The S mintmark style changed after 1917, to the larger S you see on your coin. I would also venture a guess at a 36s

I'm not so sure about it being a 1936-S; from 1935-7 the 5c "S" mintmark has a hole in the bottom well

The number "7" is composed of a Bar at the top, and a Shaft: a long, narrow part or section forming the handle of a tool or club, the body of a spear or arrow, or a similar implement.
