Why are people asking so much money for this coin? I would almost understand about the wounded eagle error but they want big money for even the regular 2000 P like this. Can someone please help clear the confusion this has created in my head? Sorry about the quality of the pictures

Well the tail doesn't look like it is one of the prototype reverse coins, so I would assume the high price is probably due to wishful thinking. Could this possibly be from an Etsy listing where most asking prices are typically a thousand times or more higher than what the coins are actually worth?

There is the so named cheerios coin that has the extra details in the tail feathers that were only distributed in cereal boxes. That's where the value is.

Yes, but as I said this isn't one of those. (Cheerios dollar is a poor though commonly used description. SOME of the dollars used in the Cheerios promotion had the prototype rev of 1999, the rest had the normal reverse. People tend to call the prototype reverse coins "Cheerios" dollars but ANY Sac dollar still in the promotional packaging is a "Cheerios" dollar. And if a coin with the prototype reverse is submitted to a TPG not in the promotional packaging, they won't label it a "Cheerios" dollar. They will also label coins with the regular reverse that are submitted in the packaging as Cheerios dollars. Thus adding to the confusion.)
