So I'm new here, and hope I'm posting this in the right place, as well as describing this as accurately as possible. So picture attached shows 1974 d quarter with everything appearing normal on the obverse side (collar and all), but on the reverse side it appears that the collar thins out to virtually not even seem to be there with the lettering being where the collar should be (more or less north west quadrant). I went ahead and took a picture with another quarter next to it to see if it's more ovious. Like I said I'm kinda new to all this but I just happen to be looking at this quarter and noticed it wasn't quite normal and it made me feel like I needed an answer whether or not this is a damaged coin or one that is a legitimate error.

Possibly due to a worn collar or die, nothing special.

I'm thinking wear issue on the reverse as well--such as a (very) worn die.

Best to compare coins from the same years. Designs/master hubs can change in a short period of timeL
Error-Or-Damaged?-1974-D-Quarter-Reverse-Collar?
Note the two quarters above. They are both normal, because that is the way they were struck on those years. Note the differences of the heads, the location of the outer devices. (what happened that year was the obverse master hub was swelling outwards. So the next year they created a new master obverse hub)
So best to compare with coins of the same year.
