I had a buyer request his item be sent to a different address. He says his PayPal account (with which he paid) has one address but he is "up north" and sent me another address. I told him I only ship to confirmed PayPal addresses. Also, I buy postage through ebay and it auto populates the information.

Thoughts on this?

send it registered or signature required, chances are good that you will be covered (take screen shots of all communications)

I am in Canada but have a US post box, which I haven't had access to since the borders closed. I've asked sellers to send direct to me up north.. some will, some won't.

If you decide to facilitate the request then don't just send via regular mail, charge accordingly for confirmed delivery or simply tell the seller you can't send it to anything other than a confirmed paypal address and cancel the sale.

If you send to a different address than the one provided at shipping, and the buyer opens up an item not received case, you will lose even if it shows delivery.

, if you ship to an address, different than the one provided, by ebay or paypal, you lose all cases for an item not received, filed against you.. You need to politely ask the buyer to update their paypal info.. refund them, and have them re purchase with the correct shipping info..

I've done this before with no problems. If your communications are through ebay's message system then you have full seller protection in force regardless of where it's sent. Many people have two homes and ask for delivery to their "southern address" this time of year.

We have dealt with this situation a few times with no real issues .
The latest spin on this is buyers having addresses in two states ,
one that charges sales tax and one that doesn't .
As Wade states above the border closure has seen rise to this
as well for Canadian purchasers .
