It may be only FR02 and was once harshly cleaned - pretty much a cull coin. Save your money

I'm buying it from a guy I know was looking for one like this to fill my book.

To me, this is a bad decision.

I understand how bad it looks might not be the best deal but do y'all think it's a real 1921 d.

It looks genuine. But at $90? That seems high for a sure-to-be Details coin, given the hairlines from a cleaning and the obverse scratch. I too would hold out for a nicer example. I would find a problem free, same grade example if that's your budget. Or save up a few extra bucks and get into problem free G territory.

Your coin, rudely cleaned and scratched, is worse than this. Don't buy it.

To each their own. If your happy then that's really all that matters. IMO, I would have also stayed away from the cleaned coin just pictured as well at $95. They will sell for whatever someone is willing to pay for it, and sometimes, that's too much. IMO. The one pictured will re-tone with time and may become market acceptable. You can never get rid of hairlines.

The coin looks genuine. There is one about the same grade on ebay for $99 that appears to have not been cleaned. If you have to have it, then, offer about 30% less because it is a details cleaned coin.

The one for 99 almost looks like it might have been cleaned the only real reason I'm interested is because I know the guy and was not really looking for one until I found that he had this one.

Too much money for the big scratch on the obverse imo It's a hole filler...and there are lots of other guys that have 21D's for sale. Try and be patient...old coins just keep getting older. smat
