A very confusing post. I don't understand the calendar quote. I can not tell the true color of these coins in the picture from the artificial lighting. They look orange to me. One thing that might cause them all to have toned generally the same hues could be that they were stored loose in some reactive paper envelope(s) or artificially toned by some other means. Good luck with your dimes. to CCF!

I have to assume that the environment that they were in is the main reason for this anomaly .

Could have just been in somebody's cup holder in their vehicle and the acidity from a pop or coffee spill toned them that color.

Depending on the environment, copper nickel will (but rarely), tone to a golden color.

Silver is far more prone to toning, which these are not. With that, and being three of them, I'm leaning towards an accidental vehicle console issue as mentioned.

I know this is 2 years old but wanted to let anyone else who finds this what it is. This is done by heating the coins to redhot and then dipping the coin in alcohol it makes the copper come to the surface. It's a very simple process done in many high school science classes. Also works with quarters.
