What do you think of this 1873-S Seated Liberty half dime?
The seller has it at Choice VF+. Seems reasonable as I think the obverse could be VF35. HOWEVER, I am not sure what is going on at the reverse with the "spongy" appearance around " Half Dime". Environmental damage?
Also, the price seems to be completely out of whack for a 1873-S H10C: $140+!

The center of the reverse has clearly been cleaned. Ditto for that light spot between the head and the cap.

People seriously need to stop messing with coins, especially cleaning.

Looks like a metal detector find that has been "rubbed".

I might be able to say VF30 but there are issues here and it's a not a great looking piece by any means.

Very much a details coin. My opinionated recommendation is to use the $140 of your budget elsewhere.
