I am new to the forum...from time to time I check dates on various coins to pass the time. Yesterday I came across a very unusual Lincoln Penny. The date is 199_ . Cannot make out the last number. I believe it is a 2 but not sure. Also, there seems to be some doubling on the top and front of Lincolns Face. Not sure if this is an error coin. Can someone tell me more about this coin. Thank You.

to CCF. It is a Struck Through Grease error. Not seeing it as a doubled die, maybe MD.

@fjp, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that you have a very nice Greaser here--could be worth saving in a 2x2 as a decent amount of the details of the date are missing. My guess is that the last digit is a number 3.
